Gallery II: Systems, Strategy, & Media Narratives
Building the Ecosystems Behind the Story and Shaping the Public Conversation
Empty Seats at Powerful Tables
A National Report on Representation, Retention, and the Future of School Board Leadership
Empty Seats at Powerful Tables is a national research report I led internal and external communications on, while working as the Communications Director at School Board Partners, managing the full project lifecycle across writers, designers, and a PR agency to deliver a cohesive, high-impact publication. I streamlined cross-functional workflows, shaped the narrative, and co-developed a media strategy that secured coverage in outlets like Newsweek and USA Today. The result was a compelling, data-driven report that elevated national conversation around school board representation, turnover, and equity, positioning the organization as a leading voice in education policy. Our Collective Power Summit
Designing a Transformational Experience for Equity-Driven Leadership
Our Collective Power Summit (OCP Conference) was a national leadership event I rebranded and creatively directed as Communications Director for School Board Partners, designing a fully immersive experience centered on restoration, equity, and collective action. I led the visual identity, stage and environmental design, conference materials, and on-site content capture, aligning every touchpoint with the summit’s theme “Restoring Ourselves & Liberating Our Boards.” The result was the most successful OCP conference to date, bringing together 80+ school board leaders and creating a powerful, community-driven experience that strengthened connection, elevated the brand, and extended impact beyond the event through storytelling and media. The Boardroom
A Newsletter System for Equity, Alignment, and Leadership in Education
The Boardroom is a monthly newsletter system I developed as Communications Director for School Board Partners to connect and support a national fellowship of antiracist school board members. Using Salesforce to segment 600+ contacts and Mailchimp to optimize delivery, I built a targeted, data-driven communication platform that achieved open rates just under 40%. I led the editorial strategy, storytelling framework, and visual identity, using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva, to create a consistent, engaging publication that amplified fellow voices, translated complex policy into accessible insights, and strengthened alignment across a geographically dispersed network. The result was not just a newsletter, but a scalable communications infrastructure that deepened engagement and advanced equity-focused leadership in education.Better Together Rebrand
Simplifying Complexity to Strengthen Community Impact
Better Together Rebrand was a comprehensive brand and communications transformation I led through Honeybeast Digital, with a strong focus on project management and contractor alignment. I oversaw a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and content creators, streamlining workflows, clarifying scope, and ensuring all deliverables stayed on time and aligned to a unified strategy. Through a facilitated brand workshop, strategic messaging, website redesign, and updated visual identity, I translated a complex, multi-partner organization into a clear, cohesive narrative. The result was not only a stronger public-facing brand, but a more efficient, scalable communications system that improved collaboration, reduced friction, and positioned the organization for long-term growth and impact.SCOPAC School Board Slate Campaign
Culture, Narrative, and a Winning Strategy for Public Education Leadership
SCOPAC School Board Slate Campaign was a high-impact, multi-candidate campaign I contributed to through Honeybeast Digital, delivering brand identity, communications strategy, and public relations for a full slate of Bend-La Pine school board candidates. I developed culturally grounded visual systems and integrated storytelling, highlighting identity, equity, and community voice, while managing media strategy, authoring an op-ed (Dear Central Oregon), and co-hosting a live election event. In a highly politicized race, the campaign successfully elected the entire slate with strong margins, demonstrating the power of cohesive messaging, authentic narrative, and strategic communications in driving local electoral outcomes.
