Our Collective Power Summit
(OCP Conference)
Exhibit Reflection:
This project demonstrates how thoughtful design and communication can transform an event into an experience, one that not only informs, but restores and mobilizes leaders for lasting impact.-
Client: School Board Partners — Our Collective Power
Project Scope: Conference branding, creative direction, environmental design, and communications for a national leadership summit
Goal:
Rebrand and elevate the Our Collective Power experience
Create a cohesive, immersive conference environment centered on equity, restoration, and leadership development
Support elected school board members with tools, connection, and community
Stakes:
This was the first in-person summit following a period of intense political and social pressure on school board leaders. The experience needed to balance strategy, healing, and community-building—creating a space where leaders could recharge while preparing to drive systemic change in their districts. -
As Communications Director, I led the rebrand and creative execution of the 2022 Our Collective Power Summit—designing both the visual identity and the physical experience of the event.
The strategy focused on creating a fully immersive environment that reflected the summit’s core themes: restoration, belonging, and collective power.
Key elements of the approach included:
Experience-Centered Design:
Designed the stage, signage, and materials to create a cohesive and intentional environment that felt both grounding and inspiringNarrative Integration:
Ensured that all touchpoints, from the program booklet to environmental visuals, reinforced the summit’s theme: Restoring Ourselves & Liberating Our BoardsContent & Documentation Strategy:
Captured the event through interviews, video, and social content to extend its impact beyond the in-person experienceBrand Elevation:
Refreshed the visual identity to reflect professionalism, warmth, and cultural relevanceOperational Collaboration:
Worked cross-functionally with leadership, speakers, and planners to align creative execution with program goals
The guiding principle was:
How do we design not just an event, but a space where leaders feel restored, connected, and ready to act? -
